The Problem
After a series of organizational changes, I became the design leader of the CNN New York office. The team morale was at an all time low. I had to find ways to change the design team culture in order to build trust amongst the team members.
The Tasks & Activities
Facilitated creative exercises. Creative exercises were a great way for the team to get to know each other as well as getting everyone’s mindset into a playful state. It increased significantly increased participation during team meetings.
Implemented a regular “Learn a new skill” workshop, where a team member would educate the team on a new skill or topic.
Active listening and candid conversations.

The Results
This is probably one of the proudest accomplishments in my career. The 180 degree turnaround was incredible. The team went from designers working in silos to a supportive talent powerhouse community. Below you will see a highlight reel we created together to showcase the incredible work done by the team.
